Library

We have a large range of books, videos and some tools which may be borrowed by members for 50p per month. You will find the books at the side of the hall at each Wednesday meeting. Profits are used to buy new books.

There are eight boxes of books, titles as listed below. Some are quite old but many remain classics and are very good for beginners. Many books are new but we have been gifted some by Brenda Nappin and Ruth Downes and the late Pamela McDowall.

  • If you wish to borrow a book or resource, put the details in the blue book along with your name and date. On return, put the relevant fee (50p per month) in the tin and sign the book back in.
  • Please make sure that full details are entered into the blue library book. when you take them out and the date retuned when you give them back
  • Put the required sum of money in the tin “Exeter Quilters.”
  • If you need a book and it has been out for more than a month, look it up in the blue book and contact the person who has it, to negotiate. If it is passed directly on, ensure that transfer details are recorded in the blue book.
  • If you want a book which we do not have in the library – ask Barbara Janssen or Mary Beale. We will do out best to provide it. If you see a good bargain in a shop or sale – buy it and Mary will reimburse you.Make sure Barbara knows about any new additions to stock to update the master list.

Some books (shown in a white rectangle) remain missing. Please check your shelves and return them if you find them. If you wish EQ to purchase a particular title, see or e-mail Barbara Janssen.

Barbara is now going to be helped by Jean and Penny. She is always on the look out for additions to the library, so let her know if you come across anything that you think the group would like.

From now on the booklist will be on the website and only a small number of paper lists will still be held.
