The challenge was to make a Fourteen by Fourteen quilt or cushion with roses as the theme. The viewer’s choice was by Jean Bartlett and Chairman’s choice by Marlene Chaffey.

Members' Christmas Challenge 2017

This challenge was to make a Twelve by Twelve quilt on a Christmas theme.

You could use any technique and enter as many blocks as you wished but there were three rules:

1.

Your finished quilt must measure 12 x 12 inches including any binding.

2.

The quilt must consist of at least three layers

3.

The most prominent feature must have a festive theme.

The Four Seasons

The most prominent feature must be a single letter of the alphabet.

It Started All White

The rules were:

1.

You may only start with white fabric.

2.

The finished quilt must not measure more than 3 feet in any direction.

3.

The quilt must consist of three layers. You may use any techniques you wish. You may want to use a variety of white fabrics, pleat and tuck, dye, paint or print fabric. You may use coloured threads and embellishments such as beads or buttons, but these should not be the dominant feature. Think of all those workshop techniques you learned but have never used again.
