Ruth, a much-loved member of Exeter Quilters, sadly died at the beginning of August 2017. She had suffered from chronic illness for many years but sheer determination kept her productive in her many crafts. We all remember her enthusing over patchwork and appliqué, silk painting, and latterly dry felting. Her work was always instantly recognisable for its vibrant colours. Her love of colour carried on to her clothes and I always remember admiring a pair of rather jazzy socks she wore one day. With a grin she told me she had painted them. A real character we will all miss her but hold fond memories. Linda Pardoe |
