Thanks to all the hard work by EQ members for our show and raffle have raised over £5,000 for charity.
We will be producing an A4 calendar of photos from the exhibition at a planned cost of £4.
There are still places available on the bobbin lace workshop on Friday 28 October. Carol will provide all the materials needed and the cost for the day will be £10. Carol says you only need to be able to count to four and you will end the day with a Christmas decoration.
Our Christmas lunch has been arranged for 14 Jan 2017 and you will need to book by 14 December.
Winter sewing afternoons are starting again with the first one taking place on 15 November.

Confirmation of speaker for our 14 September meeting: Lynne Foster, “How to Make an American Quilt.” Lynne is an EQ member who makes quilts entirely by hand. See some of her lovely work in the Members' Gallery.

Yesterday some of our members sold raffle tickets for the Charity Quilt at a craft fair on Exeter Quay.

Most members will know that Inspirations Handicraft Shop has now gone online, however Pam recently visited their Marsh Barton warehouse and found it just like the old shop. There is plenty of parking and you can visit by arrangement with the proprietor, Cherry.

On Saturday, 2 July, members set up a stall at the Exeter Age UK Summer Fête to sell raffle tickets for our Charity Quilt. Some pictures of the event are on the galleries pages.

Tickets for the Raffle Quilt will be on sale at the Age UK Summer Fête at St. Thomas Pleasure Ground, Cowick Street on Saturday 2 July from 12.00–4.00. (Please let Pam know if you are able to help with this).

Success at Quilts UK, Malvern …
Our charity quilt has been awarded the May Clarke Memorial Cup for the best quilt made to raise funds for charity. (Thanks to all the Exeter Quilters who contributed a block, to Barbara for the design, and to Marlene for the beautiful quilting).
Brenda Thomas has been placed first in Journal Quilt Challenge 2016.
Barbara Janssen has won a Judges' Merit for her small wall-hanging.

The 2016 raffle quilt has been received by Quilts UK and will be on show at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, WR13 6NW from Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 May 2016. Opening times: 10:00am – 5:00pm (4:30pm on Sunday). EQ Members Barbara Janssen and Linda Pardoe have also entered quilts for this show.
